Freelance Writer

I have been writing for 50 years. I also read voluminously.

I was first published in a school textbook, in 1975. Since then, I have been writing constantly. I've done umpteen user manuals for software products, some of them my own.

In 1986, I began working for Gateway House, which became Newgate 180. I handled routine correspondence. I wrote countless notes on behalf of our clients--including background notes for the doctor. I turned our collection of xeroxed handouts into a library of document files. I was given the responsibility of computerizing the programme manual--literally hundreds of pages. I authored manuals, cheat sheets, etc.; put together many PowerPoint presentations for use both in marketing and in the programme; and even served as a graphic artist, putting together several newsletters. I also authored a number of multimedia reports for governing agencies.

In 1989, I joined RESET Magazine (for the Atari ST line of computers), as a regular columnist, proofreader, Production Coordinator, and programmer (I like to wear lots of hats).

In the intervening years, I have been published numerous times in minor publications.

From 2004 to 2018, I was involved with Remote Planet, a weekly sketch-comedy show on local station CKCU, 93.1 FM. I ended up writing most of the content, and as a result have over 300 skit-writing credits to my name (ref Remote Planet website, archived locally).

In recent years, I have continued technical writing, and have branched into science fiction. I maintain a news page on my weather site, a blog, and the news page on the Demmery Software website.

I am available as a freelance writer.
